Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (TAI) 45th Annual National Convention was held at the Westin Indianapolis Hotel, Indianapolis, IN celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the "Tuskegee Airmen Experience" (1941-2016). All (56) TAI Chapters nationwide and from the Virgin Islands were represented. The 46th TAI Annual National Convention will be held in Orlando, FL in August of 2017.
The Petersburg Symphony Orchestra honored HBC-TAI during their “Messiah” concert at the Petersburg High School Auditorium. As part of the 75th Anniversary of the "Tuskegee Airmen Experience," HBC-TAI held a special event at the Richmond Executive-Chesterfield County Airport focused on our Youth Program. Chapter President Howard L. Baugh presented the "Tuskegee Airmen" story and its significance for today's young people. Luncheon was served at this affair for the more than 40 regular members, student members, parents, youngsters and guests in attendance. A Mentoring Program was established and each young person received a copy of "The Tuskegee Airmen: An Illustrated History: 1939-1949" hardcover book authored by Joseph Caver, Jerome Ennels, and Daniel Haulman. A good and educational time was had by all.
